hey tried searching but could not see any threads, but what is happening is: a few weeks ago i fitted the rear muffler back on my car to quiet it down a bit, now when accelerating at roughly 30-50% throttle, i have what seems to be the intake resonating and whining? it happened when i tested a pod, so i put the airbox back in and its still there, just quieter, i also had the 175 alloytec intake pipe on, and i thought maybe id put the 190 intake pipe on with the resonant tubes to see it it helps but doesnt make a difference. does anyone know what could cause the intake to whine and whistle? does anyone elses do it or is it just my car that seems to have gotten this noise? have only noticed in the last couple of weeks, and ive owned the car for 70,000km
maybe a shit or dirty pod, sometime if you're just running a pod it will make a sucking sound (had that on my vr). even now with my walkinshaw intake i get a sucking sound i thought myself it was a dirty pod. it was dirty so i cleaned it overnight put it back in and still makes the sound...
Is you whining more high pitched?
Yea it's more high pitch whistle type of sound. Il try with the standard filter to see how it goes, maybe my panel k&n is dirty
well im in the process of cleaning the k&n filter, so i threw the stock one in the box, and the noise has pretty much gone away, im guessing probably a dirty filter which was causing some flow restrictions and making it whistle
did you reset your computer when you changed intake pieces???
na didnt see the need, the computer will recalibrate itself, theyre pretty smart with that
