Hi guys, I have a VZ SS Ls1, i know this question has probably been asked before however i cant seem to find it anywhere but iv put a speco rpm gauge in my car, iv wired the pos and neg but cannot find the signal wire anywhere, the only sort of answer i could find is to wire it to the "purple" wire on the number 1 coil. or rip out the cluster and wire it in however i dont wish to pull it out. can anyone confirm this purple wire? or if there is a wire in the engine bay to link to. ( i know vx ss had the packs behind the firewall and it was a brown white? wire which was easy enough... but VZ SS dont have that)

Pin 30 (brown/red) on the cluster plug should be the signal wire for the cluster tacho. Disconnect to be sure.

Is it hard to get to? Do you have to take cluster out??

First remove the cluster bezel (two screws).
