Hi Guys
Thanks to some lowlife drilling a hole in my fuel tank to steal my fuel, I have to replace my fuel tank. Has anybody here taken a VZ Commodore wagon (it is actually an Adventra but I think they are the same) fuel tank out, and if so, are there any dramas in doing so? Just wanting to know how fiddly it is, whether I need to buy sealer etc, and what clips and things to watch out for (so as not to break them off while removing the tank). Any tips would be great.

undo the cap, support the tank, undo the 3 straps, take care on the RH strap there is a earth wire, after you have undone the straps lower the tank unclip the fuel lines and fuel pump connector, disconnect the breather from the filler neck, i recommend leaving the fuels lines in the brackets so you know where they go back, its pretty simple
Aren't late model tanks plastic - in which case it would be reasonably simple to repair rather than replace the tank and it might even be possible to do it without having to yank the tank out.
Need special fuel line removing tools that slide in under the locks on the lines then they just slide off, other than that its as Mikepc suggested. If you do take off the fuel lines, there are 3 lines on fuel tank, the outside two are simple however i find it easier to remove the center one off the fuel filter as its a bit tricky to get the tools under the locking clip while the tanks in the air.
Thanks for your input guys.
