    Default VZ Timing Chains

Hi All i,m a newbie and i have just fitted a new set of cam chains to my VZ Ute and im having a problem when i start it it runs like its 5 cylinders and once warmed up it runs fine but shut it off when hot hot and restart it it runs like crap again and it is also throwing up the code for bank 1 cam sensor over advanced i was thinking this could be a vacumm leak on the lower intake gasket as holden gave me every other gasket but this one .
Any help on this would be fantastic
    Thanks In Advance Justin

Now when you say you fitted the cam chains, does that mean you personally did it. Or did you pay some mechanic to do it? If its the later I would get the mechanic to have a look at it.
If you did it, I would have to ask, how experienced are you at mechanics?

The error code is the hint. Sounds like you have the wrong timming mark on the new chains. I'd be taking the timming cover off to check it all again or getting a mechanic to look at it ASAP. Out of balance motors can go bang (seen it with my dads Sigma and a wrong timming mark)

Picking up bit's of alloytech motor off the road may not be much fun when you go to find a replacement motor.

The timing marks are spot on and yes i did it myself i have the full instructions and timing mark diagram to do the job and i think im pretty handy with a spanner it only throws the error code up when its dead cold you clear it and its all good have taken it up the freeway and it has heaps of power and runs fine it just runs bad when first started i have orderd a new intake gasket set today so hopefully its a vacumm problem.

Well fitted new gaskets today but still no good worked out that its only running on 3 cylinders on cold start up but when warm its running on 6 the whole right hand bank is dead on cold so looks like i have to open it up again and have a look i have done a compression test and all cylinders have the same compression could this be a cam angle sensor Playing up or a timing issues its doing my head in
