Hi Guys
A bit new to the world of commodores.
I've previously had a VN 3.8 5 speed but now looking at getting a 05 VZ wagon.
Its an ex cop car.. VIN plate suggests it has a 175kw alloytec but when I look at details of the car on the NZ govt website it is listed as 190kw..
Just wondering if it could have the high output motor despite what the VIN plate says?
Also do they all come with the FE2 suspension option?
Is there some way I could tell what motor it has by looking at a photo of the motor?
Thanks for any help.
Will probably be hanging around here alot more once I get my commodore![]()
It could have the 190 motor but its unlikely that the cops will order a cop car with a 175 engine then pull it out and put a 190 engine in.
The suspension is a hard one to say, most cop cars run the FE2, but if its been owned by someone before it most likely wont have the FE2 and will most likely have the stock suspension instead.
Ex cop cars arent that great really, they are basically a stock car with some basic mods to it.
My dad was a 175kw executive ex-cop car....... pretty much stock. Only thing I notices is the make their cars run engine routines in their tune alot faster to adjusting fueling etc....... has a sump guard, fe2 etc. Nothing really special......

Only difference is FE2 and sump guard.
If the computer was capable of adjusting the tune faster it would already do it as the car would be more fuel efficient and emissions friendly, so thats a myth.
Silver Certified.
Cool thanks for the replies. Though I'm not buying it for the features.. its just a cheap price compared to others and will suit me for fishing and camping trips.
Just thought it would be a bonus if it did have the 190kw motor and FE2.
Sump guard will definately be a bonus on some of the shingle roads I'll be going on.
