I recently brought a 04 vz s ute, i brought the car roughly 2 months ago and hadent done alot of highway kms..... my fuel economy sits on around 9.4 - 10kms/100 kmh.... but im only getting around 400 - 450 km out of a tank. When i fill up it only takes around 40 to 50 litres most of the time, and am driving manily highway driving to and from work, could there be something wrong with my fuel guage or what?? not sure what the go is..
I dont understand what your asking. All I can say is be happy with that fuel consumption and the amount of KM your getting out of a tank. My personal best was 12.9km/100k and that was sitting in 6th gear doing 140 down the highway for around 4hrs.
just thourght id be getting more fuel out of a tank, thats all?
Is it an auto? I get better fuel economy from my 6 Litre manual SS than I did with my VY V6 auto and VR V6 auto.
yeah its auto, yeah i got better fuel economy in my vt s manual
perhaps you are only getting so much in a tank because its not getting low? have you driven it until the fuel warning comes on, or until the needle hits the red? it should have a 75 litre tank.
Ah just realized yours is a crewman v6. That's probably not bad then. My VY V6 used to sit at about 14l/100km
I get around 11 running combination freeway and suburban roads. It's all to do with the right foot.
The thing I have said before is hat you can't trust the readout on the cluster. It is an indication only - do manual calculations from when you fill up.
cant you fillup fully and do manual calculations and have the cluster calibrated from that?
my 05 vz ute gets around 550-600kms to a tank on the highway from a 55L or what ever it is tank. running your premium fuels then will help it stretch that little bit more but around town I'm still only getting around the 450km mark. really depends on how lead footed you are i guess. thats running a 6 speed manual though and your lucky to poke through the 2000rpm mark @ 110km/hr. biggest thing is making sure all your filters are spottless all the time and your fluids are sweet and keep an eye on your tyre pressure too helps.
Yes, but the cluster is still a guesstimate as opposed to to true reading. you can calibrate tyre size, distance, fuel tank size etc. It still guesses how much fuel is truly used and how much remains. When it gets to 0 km to go, there is generally still 10 + liters in the tank.
The readings off my cluster show that I'm doing 10.5 per 100, but it around 11 in reality.
no i mean calibrate it as in go into the settings during startup and change the % dependant upon usage
