I'm running an auto v6 '05 Calais and something strange is happening when I accelerate.
If the steering wheel is turned significantly and i accelerate reasonably, there's a strange "whisking" sound coming from somewhere infront of the drivers seat. If I let up on the accelerator the whisking stops, and if immediately put my foot back down the sound doesn't come back.
Also when driving up a hill the same thing happens without turning the wheel. This usually happens around the 60km/h mark and sometimes doesnt let up when I take my foot of the gas and reapply.
Honestly I have no idea what is causing it or what would have started causing it as I treat my car like my baby and never do anything stupid in it. Judging by logic I'd assume it's something wrong with the clutch or transmission, but I honestly hope that isn't the case, or it's not something significantly bad.
Any help would be appreciated, especially if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

At the risk of being flippant, turn up the radio. In some cases there is a whine from the alternator that is induced into the stereo. If it increases with the radio up and vanishes with the radio offnyou may need a supressor or something magical done to the alternator.
Possibly a rubbing belt would be another option. Visually inspect any belts for signs of perishing.
Otherwise, you have run over a master chef contestant.
