g'day guys,
yas driving along today and noticed my tranny (assuming) knocking in final gear at around 80 -90, bout 1600 rev.
does not do it any other time,
any ideas?
cheers.
more of a metal clunking noise? i can hold it at around 80km/h and accelerate lightly and it will do it,
only does it if im doing this eg, does not do it under medium to hevey acceleration if this makes sense?
cheers
Could be a driveshaft CV which only plays up at certain RPM/Load

thnks for the replys guys,
is there any way to test if the above suggestions are in fact the issue?
cheers
ok so heres the weird thing, knocking seems to "come and go" so to speak,
one day it will do it and the next day it wont?
so thinking it might be a misfire??? remember only happens at 1600 rpm, under light accel???
coil? fuel? tranny?
dont have the coin to take it in so any help would help
cheers.

i tend to agree with CapriciousWL it does sound like a broken engine mount have you noticed if it dose it once when under heavy acceleration then jump off the gas?
put it in gear and load it up and see if you can see the engine lift.
if it was a miss-fire you would notice it more under hard acceleration also you would notice a drop in power and power delivery wouldn't feel as smooth.
if it was the cog box you would expect to see diffferent symptoms.
and bad fuel/fuel pump (not sure wich one you where talkin about)... just geting it to start can be a battle.
