Super Lows I think and yes changing shocks is recommended if you give a sh*t about you ride.

and what do you mean by this? having softer or harder shocks will change the way it steers, or travels, completely.. Im not driving on the Nürburgring why does it need to be mega stiff

If his suspension is all original, I suggest he should change his shocks and struts when using super lows or he shouldn't expect any good result's that's all it comes down to he either cheaps out or does the complete job it's really up to him the result he wants... and mate i can guarantee you that his steering will be better with the shocks and SL's then it would be with just the springs.

Edit: Sorry mate I forgot to mention that these are shortened shocks etc that will suit the new height of your ride alot better then the original.

to stay legal im pretty sure you cant lower it more than 2inches from factory even if it still sits 110mm off the ground
in saying that, lowering the car up to 2inchs should be fine on factory shocks as it won't affect the ride too much

to people worried about steering and all that, and saying "cheap out or do the complete job", then get coilovers if you want to talk about a complete job?
lowering a car up to 2inchs from factory even with factory shocks actually increases handling as it lowers the centre of gravity without sacrificing shock travel much

Yeah too much it's up to you mate if your looking for the quick easy cheap fix then just get the springs but if your looking for quality and want to do justice to your ride then get the springs and shocks to match either way super low king springs are your best bet 50mm (1.96 inches) of standard height. Or then again as said get the coil-overs...but i drove cars with both set ups and didn't notice a real difference maybe that's just me though you do what you think is best after-all it's you ride

    Good Luck, should look sweet

Changing shocks makes a difference because you are taking old ones out and putting new ones in.

Fitting new OEM shocks would make almost as much difference to the ride quality as fitting an aftermarket one.

Fitting shortened shocks are only recommended to trap the springs, makes no difference to ride over standard length shocks.

even on "super low" spring it will be under the 100mm limit. I have standard shocks and lowerd springs the ride is really no different as long as you dont fly over speed humps. Honestly if you lower it any decent amount its going to be illegal in someway (brow height, shock travel, ground clearance). So just go for it

remember that shortened shocks will stiffen your ride to no end. an extremely stiffened ride will wear your back out pretty quick as well as you will need a camber adjustment too. However, leaving the standard FE2 shocks will cause them to wear out quicker. Remember you can replace the standard Fe2 Shocks with same height HD munro shocks.

Each Shock will do a different thing, best thing is to speak to the distributors and people with shocks, however you will find a lot of 'my dick is bigger then yours' on forums.

I left the standard FE2 Shocks in, 18 months still going good, comfortable enough ride.
