Excellent upgrade!!The car pulls very hard in first and second now and all the diff lashback is gone. The car seems to shift perfectly with the 5 speed auto box. I got it done at D&R Diffs, they are top blokes and did a great job if anyone is thinking of getting this done.
Have you gone on the highway yet, I'm curious how much higher it revs.

give everything a spray with wd40 wheels brakes that should fix the squeaks
Yeah it revs around 2350rpm at 110kph. Coming home from work i always take the M5 and M7, the day before i got the gears done i reset the trip meter and got 7.2L/100km, tonight i did the same thing with the diff gears and got 7.4L/100 so there is not much difference on the highway in fuel consumption which surprised me.
where did you source the diff from and how much was it all including installation?
im very interested in doing this, it's just a matter of putting the funds together
hey mate what does it rev at 100kmph, interested in doing this too just depending on highway revs
about 2200rpm at 100km/h. definately a good mod to do. sitting at 60km/h, car rides in 5th gear
Gotto love the diff upgrade man
Car sounds way better aswell cause it revs that little bit higher.
Do u use ur triptronic active select?
Just for anyone trying to pick between different diff ratios, I have the 3:9 gears on the 5 speed auto
@ 100km/h I sit at 2350rpm.

hey mate, what are the shift points like since they can't tune the 5spd gearbox? active select work fine? where does first and second finish now (km/hr) instead of 80km/hr and 120km/hr? price?
questions galore but would be appreciated if you could let us know!
Shift points are fine, no need to tune them with the 3.46's anyway, any higher would probably start having issues. First goes to 60kph and second goes to 100kph. Price was $1000 for a full diff rebuild with some low km second hand 3.46 gears. The rebuild includes reconditioning the LSD cones ect so the LSD now actually works as it shouldAlso the 0-100 times have not changed much at all but the 400m would be a few tenths quicker.
i not to long bought a second hand car, is there anyway you would know what gears are in the diff without pulling it apart.
like on any name plate on the vehicle or diff itself
the sticker on the diff says what gears are in it. i noticed with my diff that 0-100 increased from 7.2 seconds to 6.8 seconds. 1/4 mile was from 15.3 standard to 15.1 standard. also to note with the dif gears, not sure if anyone can comment on this but the car with standard gears changes gears at 6500rpm, with the diff gears seems to change more around 6600-6700rpm, dunno how, but it does lol
How are you guys correcting the speedo reading?
Power is measured in DECIBEL
That don't make sense lol. If you took off .4 of a second with 0-100 but only .2 for 400m?? You should have more time taken off the 400m then the 0-100 if that makes sense. Mine only took off about .1 of a second for the 0-100, .4 is a HUGE decrease for the 0-100 sprint with just diff gears.
well, my mph was slower than standard? from 95mph to 93mph. it increases the acceleration from 0-100, after that, standard gears would be better. because 4th gear is 1:1 ratio, it kills the acceleration at the track.

also have youtube vids to show for both sets of gears, one is obviously incorrect speedo, but can be gathered that 120 on the speedo is 100. time for yourself.

UPDATE. I got my speedo re-calibrated for the 3.46 gears today at CHE. I need to confirm with Dale but it seems my initial fuel consumption figures were totally incorrect. Now that the PCM knows my real speed my L/100km readout on the dash has taken a hit, it has gone up from the low 7's to the mid 9's at 110kph. I thought it was strange my economy was so good on the highway after the gears were installed lol. I must have also been clocking up more km's on the odometer then what i really was so make sure you get your PCM calibrated as soon as you get diff gears installed.
