just turned 18 yesterday and i've finally decided that the vz sv6 is the car for me.
willing to spend up to about 20k on it and have a bit left over for mods
in general, is their anything i should be careful of?
and also, i've seen heaps of conflicting 0 to 100 times of the Sv6 ranging from 6.5 to 8.7, so can someone clarify what the official 0 to 100 time is?
the car will most likely be silver, black or turismo blue (if i find one within 2 weeks)![]()
You can pick up a VZ SS with 20k?

Life starts at 200km/h
just watched a few vids that show the car being roughly around mid 7's, so not to sure about it!
i'm not planning on speeding all the time, mainly when i'm the only one on a road, but me and mates like comparing 0 to 100 times lol
yea that seems about right.
nice car bro, looks tough
Honestly, a set of nice wheels and a few suspension mods (shocks, springs and maybe sway bars) Also Diff Gears and a tune I'd call it quits
BTW I'm Selling mine cough cough :P
No, nothing wrong with it wasn't the car i wanted to buy, i rushed to get something, just because i needed a car.
And Not every P-plater has intention of smashing 0-100 times like yourself. Some respect and value their cars, ae cars not a pig to drive A to B.
Each to their each there own
"fast" is a relative thing. Compared to any NA 6 cyl commodore it's fast. Compared to nearly anything with a blower, snail or 8 cyls it's slow. SV6 is a great first car IMO - Looks and goes ok and is still safe. Get a manual one and it'd be quite fun to drive too.

get a manual if you can, youll get bored of an auto. And dont rush to buy one, you said you need one in two weeks, i learnt my lesson, dont get caught in the moment and buy something you may regret, take your time and be prepared to walk away and wait for the right car.
A good quality K&N cold air intake (not just a poddy), Extractors and definitely lowered shocks and springs. Also some nice VX GTS 19" rims (IMO they are the best factory rims ever!) or some VE Series 2 SS rims.
Took me about 4 months of searching to find my ute, i wanted manual, leather, low k's, hard cover an either Turismo blue, Impulse blue or devil yellow, the fact i paid 15k was just a bonus, but me saying that, take your time to find the right one dude, you wont regret waiting to find it![]()
I can see another VZ at the Auctions, wreckers or Panel shop in the next few months.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
As others have said, it's tempting to put the pedal to the metal but combined with inexperience this may lead to disaster. Learn to drive first, then give her a few good squirts.
An SV6 is definitely a good choice. They're still a favourite of mine, even after a decade of driving.
