Does anyone know what dashboard and control lighting options are standard on the different models?
I have a Berlina that doesn't have illuminated headlight controls or stearing wheel controls. Is this standard or do I have blown bulbs?
Steering controls should be illuminated, I don't believe any models have headlight illumination as standard.
I've got illuminated headlight controls in my berlina i think but don't have illuminated steering wheel controls.
Not sure about above, ill check my car tomoro.
I have both on the sv6 so I'd say blown bulbs, which begs the question. Where can we buy green illumination bulbs?
Thinking of it I have no light under my gears in my vz Calais. like next to my shifter to tell me what gear I'm in, that ain't normal ay?
They should all be illuminated regardless of what model your car is. Bulbs are definately blown. Chris1991 you will need the check the bulb under the gear selector, gotta take off the centre console cover and unclip the gear shift cover to get to it.
i have headlight control lights, one of which i think is blown though,
however no steering wheel button lights, and ive always looked at them and wondered if they were supposed to be illuminated, so my guess is also blown,
would any one know or have instructions to replace these? cheers

Firstly, if the OP was referring to the headlamp switch (which comes standard with background illumination), it uses four 12V 720mW globes. I did source some, but in the end they are a deadset pain in theto replace, plus I lost a couple of the green plastic bulb covers, so I bought a new switch instead.
The steering wheel buttons come either illuminated or non-illuminated. I replaced the steering wheel of my executive (with non-illuminated buttons) with a leather wheel off a maloo, which came with the illuminated buttons. However my original clockspring was only a six circuit unit, so had to replace that with a 10 circuit clockspring (also used when steering wheel transmission shift paddles are provided) in order to get the steering wheel button illumination to work. The remainder of the wiring however, was already there.
The transmission selector illumination is provided by an easily replaced globe. Effectively, it is the only piece of illumination out of all the 3 items listed, that can be replaced.
Hope this helps.
So i have a VZ SV6 2004 - I ahve steering wheel illumination - i actually asked my dad the other day if in his VZ ute if the headlight switch lights up. His doesn't....is mine supposed to?
I replaced mine with the small t5 wedge LEDs modified the bottom by cutting the led down pushed the legs through the board and resolder
I have just converted my VY to have illuminated steering wheel buttons , not what you would call an easy job , but I did it. You need a set of illuminated buttons from a VZ or WL , a clockspring from a VZ or WL, a wiring plug with about 100mm of wires on itfrom the Main wiring harness to fit on the rear of the clockspring ($20 from a wrecker), a VY & a VZ wiring manuals with wiring circuits shown (ellery's is good). You have to pull the airbag off , then the steering wheel , then the clockspring , then wire up the new plug to existing harness (you need 2 extra wires to go down to the BCM ,) the new clockspring need a couple of "modifications to make it fit (you will see there is a plastic bar on the bottom of it that needs cutting off & a plastic spiggot that needs cutting off on the inner face of it. Depending On what steering wheel you have , you may need to cut a bit off the cast hub of the wheel to make it sit down over the new clockspring. Make sure you disconnect the battery first & solder all your connections properly to the new plug. Remember Airbag will log an unclearable code if you connect battery before you reconnect the airbag. The 2 new wires one is Grey & goes to BCM x-1-5 wire on the BCM , the other is Brown/white , goes to your instrument +ve (any of the dimmable bulbs I picked up a brown/white wire below the console going to the gear selector in the bundled harness. Whew - thats about everything , but it took me a good 4 hours of fiddling. Looks great at night now though!!!!!
