Havn an l76 iv hurd i have to change the lifters when i do a cam package so that means heads off would it be worth porting out L76 heads? Im planing on putting boost through it in the future so im not shore if the heads are worth it. Can anyone give me some advice?
Also should i go diff gears and true track before the cam or cam first? The diff has been rebuilt so shouldnt brake straight away. Any ideas?
AFR heads and 3.9 gears before the tune would be nice.
Wat size heads in cfm would be good for a supercharger? Would biggest be best when goin forced?
i wouldn't bother doing the heads for cam only they flow very well from factory!
maybe down the track when you do boost or if you'd rather do it now while theyre perhaps get them CNC'd by nathan higgins?
also is your car manual or auto? perhaps a new clutch or bigger stall would be more necessary over diff gears, although both together will compliment the cam very well!
what size cam are you looking at running?
The cars a manual still not shore on 4.11s or 3.9s and i think the cam specs are 225/237. Is the anyone in w.a that ports ls heads?
definitely go for 4.11's with the manual. although if you do plan on going boosted it will no doubt be a bit much!
new clutch would be ideal before the cam though as the stock one won't hold up very well with the new power and torque!
get in contact with active auto or wa performance, some workshops do exchange higgins heads, but as I already mentioned they flow very well in stock form!
whos going to be doing the work?
Proble me as i am a mechanic just havnt got into the ls engines yet still learning. The car already has a aftermarket clutch its not the best but still better then standed. Just out of intreast y do u recomend 4.11s
fair enough then the clutch may be able too hold up for a while longer then..
why 4.11's? there going too give you the best improvement, and you can cruise along in 6th at 110 and your revs will sit relatively low.. no real reason to go with 3.9's you may aswell make the most out of what you're doing..
4.11s is the way to go because if i go 3.9s ill prob be disappointed and iv stopped doing long trips every weekend so fuel wont matter as much. Will do diff then a decent clutch so its all good for when the cam goes in. Those ideas will prob be different by tomorrow
thats it mate youll do 3.9's be happy as for a few weeks, then think f*ck i should've gone 4.11's...
sounds like a good plan of attack, but i know what you mean change of plans by tomorrow, keep us posted anyway bud
good luck...
I'd be getting a boost friendly cam if you're seriously considering supercharging.
