Hi guys,
i have a standard 2.5 straight through exaust (lukey) on my sv6, sounds rather good and I'm looking at extractors very soon as from reading other threads it will give me alot more torque and a nicer note, would high flow cats give it any more torque or make much difference to the sound? The original cats I'm told need to be replaced
By euro cats because the original ones are a wierd shape.. I don't understand why but that's what I'm told, so spending $650 on new standard cats.. Would it be better to just pay the bit more and purchase high flow cats if they would do a better job? Or do the sv6 allloytechs run better without the highflow cats?
cheers

I have the same lukey exhaust as you mate and I just got pacemakers fitted the other day, sounds absolutely brilliant and gives good torque I have noticed an increase in ease of losing traction. I was told by the guy that fitted my extractors that a high flow cat does give better torque but they make it sound crummy.

Oh sweet, did they manage to somehow re use the old cats or did you need to purchase new ones?

They reuse the old ones but they donhave to move them down because the tuned length that you have to use is much longer then the factory manifold but if you've got a good specialist it should be no problem at all

brock if i was you i wouldn't get extractors unless you have plenty of cash, i have pacemaker extractors on my vz and i have to say for the amount you pay for them its not worth it, it doesnt do **** for the sound and will only give you a small increase in power. If your engine was an ecotec then yeah i would say it makes your car sound alot louder but i mean honestly you will regret it if your expecting alot of gains from extractors.
