Got my key a little wet the other day then went to unlock my car remotely with it, didn't work. I opened it manually with the key in the door (set the alarm off), went to start it but just my luck i had a flat battery. Got a new battery for my key, still didn't work. Told my girlfriend to bring the spare key up from the Gold Coast as I was picking her up the next day. That key didn't work either. I've tried the how to here a dozen times or so: Button will not activate central locking. How to fix. but it's not working.
Another thing, got a new car battery as well cos the old one has gone flat on me half a dozen times or more the past 12 months. Since getting the new car battery my rear speakers don't work and my headunit seems to be restored to default settings. Fad/bal is 0 by the way.
Any ideas?
The battery terminals have to be VERY clean for it to charge well. Clean up the terminals and slow charge ur battery overnight with a charger. See if it fixes it. Otherwise get the alternator output checked
my doors would unlock but it was hard to open them unless you pulled the latch up a little bit further on the front passenger side.
I tried this and now it works perfectly
Check for electrical faults - simple things like lights that stay on. Could be a boot globe that doesn't go out. Definately check and clean the battery terminals.
Are you able to drive it at all? From the post I assume it's all good except for the central locking. If this is the case, it could be as simple as a fuse?
