    Default Rear shock casing loose

    Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend an easy way to fix a problem I am having.

The rear right hand side of my VZ wagon has a killer rattle when going over the slightest bumps. I have isolated it to being the metal cover that the shock runs into. Somehow it has come loose and it bangs against the side.

    Its driving me insane.

Has anyone had this issue before? Fixed it or have ideas on how to fix it?

I really don't have the money to send it to a mechanics at the moment so even a temporary fix would be great.

    Cheers,
    Jess.

My dad just pulled the shocker out and he tack welded it right at the top so it would be secure (and it worked), but everyone else is going to say replace the shockers.

one of our work trucks has the problem that the tailgate hosit assy when folded away hits on the shocks. The top covers snap off eventually and rattle around, doesn't seem to harm the shocks performance.
Every so often we tack it back in place. I think that cover is to stop dust, dirt, water ect splashing onto the shaft.
If you're happy tacking it back on, and the shocks aren't flogged out. Well go for it.
