Hey fellas recently when I raise my front power windows they almost get to the top and there is a clicking sound (like a relay) coming from somewhere under the steering wheel. Have checked to see it is not the window relay. sounds like it is coming from the BCM.
Anyone got any ideas? I thought that the BCM was all transistorised - as in no relays.
This is starting to give me the sh*ts so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Am happy to help you guys out if I can ever help!
The BCM does have an assortment of relays in it mate nothing to worry about
This sounds suspiciously like the power window circuit breaker tripping under load, especially when you have said that it occurs when the window is nearly to the top & with the window motor at a higher load. The circuit breaker is located on the instrument panel fuse block which is in the vicinity of the BCM, so the clicking sound may sound like it is coming from the BCM.
It is normal for relays to "click" though it shouldnt be audible in the cab.
Silver Certified.
Yeah I know, but this one clicks about 3 times a second if you hold the switch in the top position. Have not yet looked closely into it but have felt the outside of the BCM when happening; it feels like it is something in there
Cheers must have misunderstood u. I have studied the circuitry diagram pretty closely on the fuse/relay panel. I can't see a circuit breaker on there, just fuses and relays. And say a circuit breaker was tripping, wouldn't it remain off after it had tripped? What's the circuit breaker look like? Thanks
