VZ front steering trouble

ive just recently purchased a 04 vz ute, and the front steering makes a bit of a crunkin sound and feels a little looshish whilst driving it around corners, what could this be?

Hey mate I have a similar problem but mines more when braking at low speeds... It's a god awful grinding crunch noise, worst I've heard and it doesn't sound like rotor or pads either butitscoming from front right...

Is it like a cluncky noise? like something is loose....Do you hear it only when cornering (Like roundabouts) or breaking suddenly?
Most likely steering rack....mine has been making same noise for ages....Steering rack is stuffed....leaking as well....$900 at pedders....Haven't replaced it yet been like this for 2 years haha

If it is only doing it when braking most likely not steering related.....If it is while steering/cornering as well as breaking most likely steering rack....Easiest option... Go to Pedders for a 28-point check for $14 and they will tell you!!

ive done this with mine and got some great answers. best option to figure whats going on

They will also tell you things need replacing when they dont.

Just take it to a normal workshop for diagnosis then ring around for the cheapest repair price.
