I have a VZ Berlina with Direct Injected LPG
I dont hold the key to crank it over, i allow the car to crank on its own when i turn the key once.
So on Very First Start in the morning or if the car has sat around all day when i go to start it, it will keep on cranking over trying to start for about 5 - 10 seconds then stop. I turn the key off and back on again second time round it starts.
Only about 3 months ago i also replaced the fuel guage, i have incorrect fuel reads for ages and thought it might have been the sender unit so i replaced the whole pump, didnt seem to fix that issue so im assuming its the guage itself or the bcm. But im not worried about that problem i need to fix the car starting issue.
No error messages on the computer either.
Any ideas?

I've got a VZ Calais, v6 model that has recently been converted to DI-LPG as well, the system i had installed was an IMPCO, which is apparently the same system that is installed factory by holden on the new VE LPG models (so i was told).
I've been having this exact issue with my calais as well, like clockwork on a dead cold start in the morning the first turn resulted in the engine just cranking over, spitting and carrying on eventually just dying, the second turn it fires up without a fuss. I don't know if different LPG systems start differently but my system always starts on petrol until it reaches running temp for gas, i always use 98 octane and never let the petrol tank dip below 1/4. Coincidence or not i'm not sure but this issue only started after i had the gas installed. My car is at 180,000k's currently and has had the gas on it for less than 20,000k's. Recently just had my gas system serviced and it was give the 100% all clear. I have though been having some other engine issues. Recently had a cylinder drop out, discovered it was a dead coil pack and had it replaced but now my misfire gremlin has returned but is intermittent and occurs on both petrol and gas. Potentially going to replace all my coil packs to eliminate any further issues there, rather than continue taking the manifold off if each pack dies one after the other.
So not sure if the gas might be messing with the coil packs? i have read that coil packs on vz's have been a previous issue?
The mechanic that checked my gas system said my intermittent miss was coming from something in the electrics as it was evident on both petrol and gas.
If anyone has any info i'd be very interested aswell.
