Hi All,
My (wifes) SVZ wagon has a new noise. It's the sound of the cabin blower fan running flat out regardless of fan switch setting, ignition on or off !
Whilst this isn't too bad now we're into summer, it's quickly going to run the battery flat. I've silenced it by pulling the blower fan fuse but obviously need a longer term fix.
Has anyone else had this problem ?
In addition to this cabin fan problem starting, the engine now overheats (engine oil and coolant levels both fine), but only when travelling at low speed or stationary - evidently the Engine Cooling Fans are not kicking in. Running the car parked at idle, I can hear what sounds like the relays clicking but the fans do not kick in. Could these two issues be linked ?
Interestingly, I gave all of the engine bay relays a nudge with my thumb to make sure they were correctly seated and when I nudged the blower fan relay, the cabin blower fan switched off - now it does not work at any setting.
Help please.....
Cheers.
Check all fuses and swap the relays out with horn or headlights as a test I might be a dud relay
