not long bought a vz one tonner ute from a car yard and have had trouble with the fule tank. It dosent let us put in any more the 46 liters in the tank. the needle on the guge is showing full and when it nearly empty its on empty. we have sent it back three times to the car yard and they replaced the fule pump inside the tank but still cant fule it any more then 46 liters. Anyone got ideas on what it could be.

If it only takes 46 litres then its not empty. Theres a common issue with the arm on the sender being bent in a way that the guage reads empty when its actually on about a quarter.
The float arm should have a 90 degree bend in it at the lower elbow (not where it comes out of the pump assembly). Simply bend it to 90 degrees and it should read correctly.

Youre float is probably dodgy like mine... says empty (as in 0 kms to go) when theres an extra 20litres in the tank. Holden tried to say its meant to be like that but my mechanic (been used by the family/dad for nearly 20 yrs) said it was the float and could be fixed but no issue really I just know that I have more than it says although as soon as it gets to the start of the red line - 90KMS to empty I fill it cos I dont like to run any car down.
thanks for your help we took it to the car yard we bought it off and they said it was a blockage in the line stoping the fuel from getting to the other half of the tank. where not sure yet if it fuels up as they put fuel in it.

Same issue - on empty can only squeeze 55 into a 75 tank. By my thinking, I can make passengers panic by doing a run from Brisbane to the Gold Coast.
