Default VZ Exhaust Lukey cat back

    Gday fellow Commodore owners,

i recently purchased a VZ Commodore equipe (alloytec engine) and finally got my P plates (was too lazy lol) and now planning to do some legal upgrades to my Car.

first on the list will be an exhaust, lookin at most forums (mainly just commo's) im gettin the impression that lukey exhausts are the way to go. basically what I want is my car to have a louder/nicer note without the coppers pickin me up (being a P Plater).

i have come across this on ebay, but im not mechanically minded

Lukey Cat Back Exhaust Holden Commodore VZ V6 V8 Sedan | eBay

will this do the job or will I need to get more parts etc to fit it, also is it worth gettin on Ebay or should I go to an Exhaust specialist as a Safer option???? (reason I ask is I havent seen other forum Q's purchased parts off ebay and not sure about reliabilty)

installation is not a prob as my old man has been workin as a mechanic for decades.

    cheers

    Sime

A single 2 1/2" cat back sounds like shit on the VZ. I say this not because I want to sell you one of mine, only because it's true.

So, the one I do is a twin 2 1/4" into single 3" that is louder and deeper than stock and has no drone. $495 shipped to your door. The brand is Manta.

If you are willing to come down to Bunbury, I can fit it for $990. The extractors I use keep the cats in the factory position so the resonators under the car stay. This stops the car from sounding too raspy with high flow cats.

If you look under the car level with the gearbox, there are two resonators under there that look like cats.

LOL!! NAAF sells through a business, I doubt he would be willing to negotiate around 40% off. He'd lose money.

    Hi Guys .

im in the same position in my 05 vz exec, just really after a bit more of a grunty sound. not like a v8 just something different and loudish.

at the moment there are the three bolt on types of cat backs for sale like lukey single 2 1/2" and xforce twin 2 1/4 and twin 2 1/2 (sound crap and also reduce backpressure and low end power from what ive read) all are between $200-$400

also there is from the many threads ive seen not_an_abba_fan is selling the manta twin 2 1.4 into 3 inch for $495

could someone clear up which is best to buy

    cheers
