I recently got Pedders 'Super Low' Touring (6412) springs for the front of my VZ. With this I also got Monroe GT Sports shocks/struts & new strut bearings/mount (Could this be the issue? strut bearings/mounts were visually larger than my old worn out ones...).
When I got everything installed the guys at Jax Quickfit asked me why I got my car raised at the front... I was confused as hell. So I went to Pedders and I was told that my car is incorrectly too high (2cm) - Although visually they see nothing that could cause it. I took it back to where I got it installed and they disassembled it and showed me everything to ensure nothing is out of the ordinary. Pedders eventually suggested 2275 springs (which are apparently for the VS commodore) as it would lower my car by a further 1-2cm. I was then told by other people it would make the car ride constantly on the bump stops... but my bump stops are lowered ones?
I was THEN told by a guy at Repco (when trying to shop for new springs) that the reason is the profile of my tires. I am currently running Achillies Sports 225/35r20 and I apparently SHOULD be running 245/30r20....
What the hell do I do!?

I see hundreds of VZ/VY commodores even with the same wheels that sit lower on super low springs!
Proof: 2003 vy commodore equipe
That front wheel looks huge, im thinking perhaps they put the wrong springs in the wrong places.
Life starts at 200km/h
Ok, Lets go deeper into this...
"Super Lows" Is not a measurement of spring stiffness or height. It's is a generic term that was adopted by people thinking every spring manufacturer had standards that matched others, Wrong...
20" Rims. Unless you have the right profile, An even then, 20's on a VY/VZ Are wrong, 19's are the go.
VZ Commodore, Need I say more?

You said your sprigs are Pedders... They are all King Springs...
What do you not understand?

pedders dont use 'super low' for identifying springs, its just a similar equivalent to a super low, they go off mm.
Its supremely uneven
and the problem with swapping to king springs is the possibility that it might result in the same issue.
my current springs were meant to be perfect - they werent. who knows!
Well i'm not sure what to tell ya mate. Here's a link to a thread with my VZ wagon in it Lowering
I can't see any reason for yours to be higher, i swear mine has the same springs up front as yours. It runs 20"s and i run 225/35R20s up front, but 245/30R20s on the rear.
Repco saying your tyre profile is the problem is stupid. There is barely any difference between 225/35 and 245/30. I just like the 245s because the actually sit out to the side of my rims.
Cheers for the info Low06VZ - can you tell me what the model number of your front springs are by any chance?
I spoke to King springs on the phone and they informed me the most likely culprit is the bearing tops.
As they are cheap and stiff they raise the car by roughly 1 to 1.5cm.
Still doesn't explain it 100% but its the most probable cause.
I was then referred to Fulcrum and they informed me on the following springs:
khfl-47hd -> super low - 35cm
khfl-47sl -> ultra low - 34cm (more chance of 35cm with my problem)
the measurements are the centre of the wheel to the guard.
I am currently sitting at 37cm - The problem is that neither King or Fulcrum know which spring would be 100% but King swayed towards the super low more.
I don't want my car illegal, too low or ####ing up my bumpstops etc.

might be stupid to everyone, but take the front bar off, get some dive LED weghts and sucure them in front of chassi rail each time untill you get it to drop that extra 1.5cmmm
shouldnt take more then a few kg..
Hey mate, had almost the exact same problem.
Went to get my car lowered on sports ryders, I can't remember the exact part number but it was something like 6412. My front didn't even drop, and my rear dumped. They also changed my front bushes as the old ones were cracked. Went back to them and they put in those 2252 or whatever ones in and it dropped it about 15-20 mm, still too high compared to the back. So after looking like an invisible caravan was attached to the car I went and bought king springs ultra lows (ssl) and gt sport shocks and struts and changed the whole suspension myself. (Note: I first put the king springs with the stock struts, then later with the gt sport. Height did not change, maybe 1 mm or just my imagination.). I left the rear pedders in as they a extremely low (wtf did they put in there is what i think everyday). Car sits great now but I still want the front maybe 5 mm lower. I can post pictures of my guard clearance if you want.
I have super lows on 20"s. I'm glad its not as low as I thought, I already scrape on bumps. The lower you go, the more damage you do. Besides, it already looks good mate.

give everything a spray with wd40 wheels brakes that should fix the squeaks
Have you given them time to settle?

back looks lower then the front, give it time as the front of the car weights moar, and should sag, "kings springs" are known 4 that....
I wouldnt stress to much about it. it looks fine how it is!!!
my other ride has tits..
with pedders touring 6412 you should have a rim to guard height of aprox 615mm with 20" wheels, the sports ryder 2275 is only another 10mm lower than the touring 6412,
and yes a new bearing plate can change the height up to 15mm.
