vy/vz tail lights. need some clearing up

hi guys, did some searching but couldnt really find a proper answer for my question.

i have a vz executive sedan and was just wondering if i wanted to fit these lights COMMODORE VY SR2 SS SEDAN TAIL LIGHTS -PAIR | eBay.

would i have to change the tail light loom to a vy? Holden Commodore VY VZ Sedan Left & Right Tailght Wiring Looms. FREE POSTAGE | eBay

any help would be great thanx

wont fit mate. they will fit but you have to change the rear bumper to either a vz sv6/ss bumper. or a vy executive or vy s/ss bumper.
long answer, for a vz the executive, berlina and calais have bigger tail lights. where as the sv6 and ss have smaller.
for a vy the vy executive, s and s have smal tail lights and the vy berlina and calais have bigger.

ok. so the vy executive have a different bumper to a vz executive. are they like the vz ss bumper?

thats a picture of a vy executive tail light on a vz executive. see the difference in size?
the executive bumper is different to a ss bumper. for a vy the light gap is the same size but the vy ss bumper is different on the bottom. just google the too bumpers to see the difference instead of me trying to explain it haha

VZ Executive lights are the same size as;

VY: Berlina, Calais, HSV
VZ: Acclaim, Lumina, SVZ, Berlina, Calais, HSV


VY Executive lights (smaller) are the same size as,

VY: Acclaim, S, SV8, SS
VZ: SV6, SV8, SS, SSZ

There is a good inch and a half difference in height, and to put smaller (SS) lights in your car, you would need to change the rear bumper. I doubt whether the loom would need to be changed.
Also worth noting all after market tail lights are the smaller SS size lights. They won't fit your Executive.
