Default VZ Alloytec will not start.

This isnt like anything else i have experienced. Sometimes it will start, just by luck.

Key goes in, Engine gives that little whine and goes through check. Hear the fuel pump whine. Turn key to start engine. Nothing. I could do this about 25 times and on the 26th it might start, or i could do it 3 times and it will start on the 4th. all random.

Have had the battery checked and passed test at 580 on 75%. Battery out and recharged overnight to be sure. Starting the car, the Voltage Reg in the dash menu (mode and set) doesnt budge off 12.5 when the ignition is turned over. Im suspecting something to do with the starter motor.

To add to the problems, had the ignition on, removed fuel pump relay.. SVS warning. Fuel pump still working, so its not an issue. Anyone have any other options?

It does sound like a starter motor issue, take it to an Auto Electrician they will be able to tell you. Let us know what it ends up being.

Still no luck, staerter has turned out ot be fine.

Here are the steps ive taken

    1) Battery tested at 580 & Passed, 600 and Passed
    - Battery charged overnight aswell
    2) Short out Starter Relay, car did not turn over
    3) Starter Relay tested, works fine
    4) Removed Starter, had it tested, spins up fine.

Next step is to start looking at the immobilser, cant find a fuse or relay for it anywhere.

Mine occasionally does something similar. Insert key, turn it & nothing happens. My remedy was remove key, open & close the door, lock it, then unlock and try starting again. Hey presto it worked 1st go.
Same thing if the remote won't lock the doors after getting out. Restart car then try locking doors, again it worked after doing this.
When I did the ICC testing for the F territories they told us to do the above procedure for certain things, apparently it resets the computer or something? Anyway I tried this and it does work on my car!

$20 later, the auto electrician seems to think its something to do with the starter solenoid, new solenoid for $135. All i have to do is remove the starter... again
