    Default CPR6 Manifold - Worth $1600?

V6 Commodore alloytec manifolds with extra horsepower

Seems like it would increase performance. Either by itself or with other modifications.

Looks like a good start to making my car better :3

You end up paying almost that much with some exhausts/extractors and you get more hp this way? meh

It's really a support mod after you have done the usual cam and exhaust upgrade.

I have one and yeah it's worth it. It's difficult to remember because it was a while ago, but I remember I was nuts about it at the time. You will lose a little power low end but when the revs go up a little the Alloytec loves it, so much easier to breathe

for $1600 you can get a nitrous kit supplied, fitted and tuned. what do you think will make a bigger difference down the qtr?

Sounds alot like the Starr manifolds. Very expensive for a 8hp gain. Absolute wank on a standard motor.

We all know Alloytecs are naturally very lazy in the bottom end anyway, Putting around town put your foot down and theres nothing. But Mid - Top Range, They are a whole different car to drive. Throaty, engine sounds nice and the car has power to boot. But not everyone wants to give the boot to it everywhere where you go. This is the only problem i have ever had with my alloytec. To lose even more bottom end squirt? Just plain crazy i say. Furthermore the gains are outweighed by the cost.

You say it makes it breathe easier, yet it is still restricted by a tiny Intake pipe with a tiny unremovable maf, a tiny TB. If this could all be changed aswell, Mafless OTR, Larger LS Sized TB and CPR6. Dare say all out problems would be sorted.

Untill then, Its just a massive Intake that costs a lot and kinda looks ugly anyway in my eyes. If i had one id be gridning off the CPR6 and having it smooth

Forgot to mention, i have a custom, modified manifold on my car with a ported TB. Need to develop the intake more and hopefully see a bigger improvement, however still restricted by the MAF

They do deliver what they say, it's a matter of where that power is on the graph. As in the cpr6, it delivers it's power in the top end of the rev range. Most people also don't drive in the top end of the rev range all the time so they may think it does nothing in the rev range they are driving in.

Whilst I will agree with the nitrous being a lot faster on the 1/4, how often do people actually drive 1/4 of a mile at a time? Availability of gas is also a problem - in fact if I wanted nitrous I'd either have to drive 3 hours or dress up in a hockey mask and hold up the hospital for a bottle
