Hey guys, just doing a bit of homework on the VZ crewman, looking at buying one half way through the year so thought id get my facts now. I have a few main questions... FIRSTLY. Being a p plater and all, should i buy an S pack and throw an 8 in there when im on my fulls or just buy an SS? Lets not argue about the legality of that question. SECONDLY. Im 6 foot 4 and eat children who stay up past their bedtime, exactly how much room would the poor bastard behind me have? THIRDLY. What sort of faults should i be looking for? Or what should i expect? Oh and fourth, im not into the whole automatic climate control deal, what am i looking at to rip the sucker out and put some knobs in? (Besides me).
Thanks guys!!
I'd steer clear of Crewmans all together. The back seat is tiny making the whole idea hardly worth the effort, they are heavy, ugly and you can get better for your money. Just wander through a car dealer and have a sit in the back seat, this will solve all your issues. if your looking to modify it later aswell, dont even think about a crewman
As for being a P-Plater, it's more costly to buy a V6 and put a V8 motor in later then it would be to buy a run about and have a V8 waiting for you in the shed. Perhaps it could be a project build while your on your P's. If your looking for faults, its the usual business. Body damage, look for previous modifications, interior damage, pull the dipstick out and check the oil. Start and listen/fell the engine cold, for any shakes etc. If your buying private have the car safety and mechanically inspected before purchase, this can help you avoid buying a lemon.
Auto to manual. Just buy a manual.
Life starts at 200km/h
Cheers for the advice impulsive! For some reason i find them sexier than the normal utes, shame about the back seat though... I reckon if holden were able to lighten it a little, add a few inches to the cab and put in some sedan seats they'd have a deadset winner. Oh well we shall see what time brings![]()
