    Question VZ OEM Tweeters

    Hi guys,

Just a simple quick question. I'm replacing my speakers in the Maloo.. and putting 6.5" splits in the front. Now I'm going to drill the tweeters into the door cards.. Can you tell me if the original tweeters in the top of the dash (OEM) need to be cut? because i don't wont them wrecking the sound with distortion or what ever? When in doubt cut them out lol?!

Before you cut your door cards.

Try blue tacking the tweeter in place on the door card and make sure you like the sound. Could be worth mounting the tweets in factory locations and see how it sounds too.

agreed, dont cut your door cards, tweeters are supposed to be mounted up there, better sound qaulity, PLUS.. its also probably about 10 times easier to install them there anyway

I actually fiberglassed over the standard tweeter holes and cut a 30mm hole on top of that - they seem to work better now.

My tweeters sit on top of my dash mat with the help of a little velcro.

They dont move and sounds good.
