Default How to: disble low fuel warning

As the title suggests, id like to disable the fuel low warning. For all intensive purposes the reason i want to do this is because :

-the fuel guage is factory flawed, as we all know.
-i can actually tell when i need fuel, all i have to do is look at the fuel needle. I dont need an alarm to remind me
-i put $20 fuel in the other day on near empty tank, despite having been fleeced at the service station, i rounded 2 corners and the low fuel alarm starts flashing.. FFS

    its annoying

I won't allow my fuel tank to drop below 1/4 because if you go below that then the pump will start sucking up the crap if there is any in the tank to the engine

Im sure the fuel pumps really dont like running dry too. the fuel cool the pump and if you run dry the pump over heats and seizes.

Is that right? I cant remember what car it was,im sure it was a commodore though.

My VZ fuel guage is quite accurate and Ive never run out of fuel.

Crap in the tank is a thing of the past when you have plastic fuel tanks and decent filtration at servo pumps. Its a moot point anyway as the pump draws from the bottom of the tank regardless of fuel level.

It isnt good to run a fuel pump dry, no.

Had the car a few weeks, filled it a few times now, to the brim. No issue with false readings or computer malfunctions

Our point being, that if there is fuel in your car, it won't beep at you. Simple Simon.

I can understand this, havnt tested it but the manual says 85l tank. At 0km/empty it takes 65l so I assume there's 20l below it.

If this is the case the low light comes on way too early. There's also a very low warning too after that.

Generally a how to thread gives u instructions on 'how to' do something, this does not

Normally created from information gathered and from experience actually doing the 'mod', then written up. Something like:

How to disable low fuel warning
Step 1: find closest petrol station
Step 2: drive to closest petrol station
    Step 3: fill car up
Step 4: drive home and enjoy a coldie! U deserve it!

    /end thread

If it were possible, that someone has disabled this alarm and mentioned how to do it, then it would be a "How to" thread, would it not?

If you drive around with a full tank you don't need to turn off the alarm alarms in cars are there for a reason the same bell will also apply to your oil light water temp light battery light now if your to busy at looking at the road and one of these lights come on and no bell sounds and when you look down and finally see the light after the car has shit itself aren't you going to wish you had the bell then?

And if still want to turn it off search google because smart Holden owners including myself would rather have an audible warning then a car that's sitting on the back of a tilt tray because they decided to de activate an alarm because it annoyed them
