G'day.
I recently went to inspect/testdrive a 04 VZ SV6 4 sale and after 3 months of looking on the market, I have chosen this one to buy. Really keen to get it and upload some photos. It's looking great because the previous owner got it resprayed 2 years ago and it still looks like its new out of the factory. But anyway, I noticed that when I apply the throttle, It revs smoothly but when I take my foot off, it makes a single 'tap' noise as the revs move down to idle.
Does anyone know what this might be?
Thanks for your time guys!
Mike
Throttle plate returning to its default position?
Silver Certified.
I have noted on my V6 VZ the exact same thing. The 'clicking' sound seems to originate within the throttle assembly when the throttle is released, however it doesn't seem to have any adverse affects on vehicle operation or performance. On mine, if you lightly depress the accelerator pedal off the fully closed position and then release it, the 'clicking' sound is often evident.
If the vehicle performs correctly, I would simply ignore it.
