Where abound is the oil switch in the alloytec so that you can hook up a oil pressure gauge?

is that the alloytec though? that looks to be the ecotec.

to the op, thats obviously from an ecotec engine, but the sensor is just under the oil filter housing.

to hook up a gauge, is it as simple as splicing into the existing wiring?

No it's not unfortunately it need a brass T adapter with the original oil pressure switch in one end and the sender unit on the other end, with a single cable output that runs back to a gauge or what not inside the car. Not as simple as chopping a cable
