Hi all i recently purchased my car and it was lowered when i brought it, i took it to a mechanic cause it had a bit of clunking and what not from the suspension. He said that all my bushes ect, where fine but the person who got it lowered did half a job. The mechanic told me i need to put sports suspension through the car it still has its stock suspenion. is this true or is he bull shitting me?
1 stage its not that low that i have to go slow over things it doesnt scrap on anything either
Have a look at the springs and shocks, what colour are they?
Silver Certified.
If its lower than 38-39cm from the centre of the hub to the guard id recommend lowered shocks/struts (monroe gt).
well they a grey/silver colour. how much would that cost me to get lowered shocks/struts of a monroe gt put in?
$400 + Parts
Give or take. I recommend JAX Quickfit as they are the cheapest.
I have spent well over $1500 all up on my stupid ####ing suspension.
thanks mate, just getting sick of the rough ride was expecting it to a nice ride but you can feel every single bump in the road.
Great handling = rough ride
Great ride = rough handling

Struts and shocks wont improve anything unless you get some sort of comfort range. But even then because the car is so low there isnt enough travel for the shocks to do their work.
You are doomed. At least for the rear... My front springs/struts seem alright. But then again I am as low as I can be on the rear haha.
yeah mines not that low the rear wheel arch only just covers my tire on my 18" rims
thats low enough, you wont want to go much lower than that. I see people lowering their cars to the ground but because of australias fantastic road qualitythey cant drive very fast
yeah didnt plan on going any lower, but yes the road quality is bloody fantastic especially where i live, the roads are that bad i dont drive down most of them due to the fact there full of pot holes that are about a coke can size deep
haha well cant complain really price we pay for getting lowered cars instead of a 4X4
