Default Fuel efficiency through the roof!!?

Hey guys, I bought an SS Inductions Growler CAI kit and installed it in my 04 Exec. I run it off 98 Octane and before i installed it my fuel rating was 10.7L/100km. Now its sitting at 16.1L/100km. I drive it like a baby too! any ideas why its doing this? it just keeps gradually going up and up! help please!

The air intake temp sensor is now reading colder so the PCM is chucking more fuel in. See if you can refit the sensor as close as you can to the throttle body. Also, the CAI draws more air into the engine so the PCM will be compensating by throwing more fuel in as well.

Put the standard airbox back in and see if it goes back to normal, if it does then you may as well do the exhaust and get a tune if you want to run the growler.

That's pretty high for a 6. Are you sure you didn't knock any sensors etc when you installed it?

I installed a K@N panel filter to o6 vz 3.6 3 months ago, fuel useage shot up steadily too 16.5 fromaround 11, 12LT/100, i reset trip com and made all the usual checks, yesterday changed back to stock and usage dropped back to 12.5 around town. Without a tune to suit these filters are only good for making a noise!
what we have here,is a failure too communicate!!

Wouldn't the maf sensor compensate for the change?
