Dual zone climate control/aircon

I have a VZ Maloo 2006, with dual zone controls. I have recently had the aircon vaced and regased, as it was low in gas, but it's not as cold as it has been. Previously it would freeze your nipples on 17, with fan speed 3, now 17 is like 23 with fan speed H.
I have checked the LHS temp control switch and all I get is C or the temp which the right switch says or H. Is the LHS switch doing what it's designed to do? because the owners manual say's it should go up or down in single increments.
If this is not the case, what do I look for too get the aircon colder?
The guy that regas it, says that it would not get any colder, and the system is working as it should.
The vehicle has a performance cam fitted, however I had no issue with the aircon after fitting.
I admit I had'nt run the aircon since last summer. I thought it might be the pump, but I have been asured that it is fine.
Can someone please help.

My Dual Air con system allows me to set any temp I want on both sides in increments of 1degC.

But I have read about this problem somewhere on here before but just cant remember what they said. Try looking it up in the search.
My air con is pretty cool, nothing to complain about. Hard to compare online.
