hey guys,
I've had my VZ SS (5.7l, auto) for 6-7 months now and has never given any issues, last weekend i finally installed my sound system (2 amps, jvc 6x9, alpine splits and a kenwood head unit), also i cut a bigger hole in the air box simila to the monaro air box setup. When I installed the sound system I was very careful where everything whet and where I ran the power cable (down the drivers side grommet away from the wires).
when your reversing and then back off the throttle, the car nilly stalls (sometimes does) but when driving its all good. when you pull up at a set of lights the car nilly stall as well. i went over all connections, inside the car with the sound system and also the air intake i had off. checked to see if the pcv hose was connected correctly / cracked it was all good.
i have nfi what's going on, the only mods done to the car are hsv engine covers, catback zorst and a k & n filter.
anyone have any ideas
p.s i have done a search already
Anyone??....
Maybe it's your oxygen censors not reading properly they do need to be replaced every 100,000 ks I was told.
Wont be o2 sensors.
Check for vacuum leaks, make sure the intake is on the throttle body properly and not folded over underneath and not sealing. Make sure all the vacuum lines are connected.

those HSV engine covers maybe a problem??
sorry to dig up an old thread but haven't had time to fix the car.. ive only noticed the problem when the car is up to operating temp. im getting around 300-400ks out of a tank of 95-98 octane, the one thing that ive noticed but when you start the car it sound like there is spark from the ignition and earthing out somewhere on the drivers side of the motor(same sound as to when your checking your lawn mower for spark, with the spark plug out and you can see and hear the spark(clicking). not sure if this is a common thing with the VZ (my first V*. any idead please car has around 110000ks on it.
Whens its playing up look under the bonnet at night when its dark and see if you can see any sparks anywhere.
