Default vz speedo reads way too fast

hi all, posting this on behalf of a mate. 04 vz berlina v6 auto, completely stock standard. done a search, cant seem to find anything. his speedo reads much faster than what he is actually doing, the faster he goes the wider the reading eg; actual 60kmh- speedo reads 80kmh, actual 80kmh-speedo reads 105kmh etc.. the digital speedo in the menu works fine and has been checked against his gps. its the annalog (needle) one that is causing him probs. any info appriciated

take it to a company that can recalibrate the speedo. strange it being a standard car??. as even a new car are acceptable being a couple off % out. but not that f_____g amount.diff gears would do it but not if its all originall from gmh...

If the digital speedo is correct then one would have to assume it has nothing to do with diff gears.
Me thinks either the needle has moved or the speedo needs to be looked at by a competant speedometer person.

If the diff gearing has been changed or the wheels have been changed then it will affect BOTH the digital and analogue needle speedo.

The original post clearly states "the needle is out, 60 shows 80 and 80 shows 105, the digital speedo works fine and has been checked against his GPS" so it is nothing to do with gearing besides, as stated, the car is bog stock.

ahh the needle my bad, it may have been bumped then if someone was mucking around with the speedo, best thing to do then is to take the cluster front plastic off, wind the needle back slightly, put the car in engineering mode and zero the needles, see how close it is to 100 then repeat until spot on
