So rebuilding my Sv6 due to spun big end bearing so I though I will show how to do the rebuild and to show how to do the timing chains. now I have the engine fully ripped down but first Theres a problem Alloytec cranks can't be ground they like to crack! so new crank and Conrod due to arrive this week. so heres some pictures and will update when process is made any question just ask.

Hi yeah not much info on rebuilds for these engines. theres not much I can improve on bottom end wise there pretty strong as is. But will be running chrome moly rings and ACL bearings. But if I was going force induction maybe some new pistons to lower the compression.

Yes doing it myself and it has cost me about $2100 so far but that about everything that's even with a full timing chain kit. These engine's have hardly any gaskets just o rings and ultra grey pretty cost affective.

pretty good prices considering timing chain is included in the price, as the other fellas said, keep us posted. I find this stuff very handy and quite interesting. also what about cams? is there much in the way for improvement for these to go? or just not worth the money? Good stuff mate.

1100-1500 for cams through mace engineering

Really?? is that it for cams? i was quoted $5000 at ProFlo.... labour included obviously. cant remember if that was tune too, probably was.
