When I first start up my car for the day(175KW VZ 1700km) I get this clicking noise coming from the ECU I think, the black thing that sits next to the air inlet.
It lasts for about 15 seconds and slowly goes away, has anyone had problems with the ECU and do you think it is worth getting it fixed or not, I would hate to be driving somewhere in the never never and it konks out on me.
Any Ideas would be appreciated.![]()
the ECU on the alloytecs is screwed to the front of the drivers side head, it has two wiring loom connections on the front of it .... is this where you are talking about or are you talking about the throttle body motor ?
i remember hearing mine making a noise when the ignition was on but the motor not running ....

if the ignition is on & engine not running for 30 seconds the ecu does a reset on the throttle motor, perfectly normal

Sammy, yes that is where it is and it happens when you start the car for the first time and the engine is running, it clicks for about 45 seconds or so and then it goes away and it will not happen again until you start the next day. It only started to do this about 3 weeks ago.
Well I just got my car back from the dealer today and the clicking noise was a very unclean fan belt, I am now happy again.
