G day. my car is a vz ss 05 model and I'm getting movement in my strut top Bush I get about 7 mm movement up and down when I lift both wheel completely of the ground and I lift the wheel up and down?? Is this a sign of wearing out as I've recently incurred a clunk noise when going up gutters or
My driveway and speed bumps also when I lower it down the Bush lifts of the body about 7mm ?? Thanks in advance

Yep they,ve had the dick. As you can see the difference between old and new. When the old ones were in place they allowed the top to sit proud of the body by around 5mm.

A word of warning if you are staying with rubber bushes like I have then only buy Genuine Holden or at pinch Pedders don't buy the generic crap on ebay.
Last year we fitted ebay ones to my sons VY and they were flogged out after only 3-4months, replaced with genuine ones not the tiniest movement even after 6 months plus with kings springs and Mnoroe GT Sports, plus he drives like most young guys like he is always late.

I changed the strut top bushes and bearings a couple of weeks ago. Straight forward job but some of the nuts/bolts were dam tight! Make sure you have all the tools before you start - you will need a 24mm ring spanner for the top nut, I didnt have this grrrrrrr! A good tip someone gave me was top loosen off the top nut of the strut while the wheels are still on the car - ie before you do anything else. There is a good guide on here somewhere with pics so you cant really go wrong, but I would not have been able to do it without my breaker bar for the tough bolts - a good rattle gun would obviously help.

The bushes and bearings are only about $35 each from Holden.

G'Day Lex or anyone able to help,

Doing struts ,mounts and brakes along with a few other jobs on the Munro!
Should I use loctite on the strut top mounting bolt when re assembling?
Its a bit of a bugger of a job with no rattle gun and doing it on the floor,,,, Making progress though lol

Why one would even consider putting rubber mounts back in is beyond me.
Superpro strut mounts in for over 5 years and not one bit of sag yet.
