Black SS with blue leather

HI All,
I was thinking earlier today that black and blue is such a great combination, but when you buy a black SS and you want a colour leather, you get lumped with red!

Has anyone asked the dealer if they could get a black car with the blue leather/interior from the impulse blue SS?

How difficult would it to do an interior conversion with genuine parts, obviously if cash were no object?

Thoughts appreciated.

We swapped the leather from one Astra Convertible to the other last week.
Took about 3 hours each time.

So were these on new astra's, or do you own two?

I just read your post on the employee pricing deal that's on at the moment, after reading that i'm guessing you work for holden?

I'm curious as I will be purchasing a Black SS ute in jan/feb next year and wondered if it would be possible to request the blue interior from a dealer when purchasing, or am i stuck with the red leather or normal interior and need to source a blue leather one later on.

Ideally, I would rather pay a bit extra to the dealer and get them to do everything prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle, but I don't want to get charged an exorbatant price because of that (eg have to purchase 2 interiors and bin the one that is taken out).

Your advice appreciated.

When I purchased my VY new, I requested leather although I was told it would be an addtional two months on the existing three months (Christmas in between). When I told them this was not acceptable, they offered leather through a contractor, to be covered under factory warranty.

Th only drawback was lack of side air bags, as they were fitted as part of the leather pack option. I was given the option of any colour and I included SS bolstering for an extra $250. Overall price was comparable to the factory leather, with a better finish. I was able to speak to the contractor directly.

Either ask or give them an altermatum to close the deal. I am sure they will do it. My car was purchased through St Leonards (Sydney) Hunter Holden and they had the leather done at Blackman's, Caringbah.

I'm looking at buying a 2nd hand SV6 I was talking to dealer recently and said I'd love a black SV6 but hate the red inside he said I could change it to black for $2100...

My mate recently bought a second hand VY wagon on Parramatta Rd and optioned it up with SS bars/skirts, lowered, 19"wheels,colour coded everything and full leather interior. The full leather interior (any choice of colours) cost him only $1200 from a local guy that services the car yards. We thought it was too good to be true

but it was a top quality job.

Hmmm, does sound like a good deal, I can see why you thought it would be too good to be true. Unfortunately I'm in Perth, so I need something in WA at least.
