So lately i have been noticing a strange shuddering noise every now and then coming from the rear of my vz.
The noise only lasts about a second or two and tends to happen whilst either sitting stopped in drive or when put into reverse. Something to do with my transmission maybe?
Anyone else had this issue

So i read in another thread that this could potentially be relating to my "centre bearing bush" or something?
I have no idea what or where that is but how can i check it and what should it/ shouldnt it look like?

The centre bearing bush is located half way along your tailshaft and yes they can give the trans shudder you talk of.
Its job best tackled by a tailshaft specialist.
Usually shudder from the bearing is worst when taking off up hill as this puts the most torque through the tail shaft.
At speed they are usually fine even when at their worst.

i agree with surf wagon 100% although i replaced the centre bearing and all the uni joints just to be sure and found the uni at the diff end was virtually destroyed(SSL lowered in the rear)
