Hey all,

Been using this forum since I bought my SV6 a little over 2 years ago - always just search any issue I have and 9/10 I find results :)

I have just put new coils and plugs in my car (Monday night) as it was running like a bucket of sh*t, shuddering under acceleration, using more fuel etc.

Now, it's running like a dream, but my fuel usage is still up? Is that normal a few days after change, ecu need a whole to adjust itself or do we still have another issue?

Cheers.
Ben

You could try to reset the ecu by disconnecting battery for a minute or two .

Hey all,

So after disconnecting the bat twice now, I'm still using a hell of a lot of fuel.

Just been at the snow all week, usually highway driving I'm down to about 7.2ltr/100km

The drive from Sydney to Falls Creek I was getting 11!

On my way back up to Sydney now, and after disconnecting the bat again at the servo I'm now at about 10. Still way wat too high. What could it be? Up for new o2 sensors perhaps?

Cheers!

Also, first start after a week it started no worries, but then stalled and "service vehicle soon" came up. But hasn't done it since.

Have you tried a pcm reset?
The method should be the same as on my vxss.
Engine temp at 80 degrees or normal temp.
Engine off.
Pull the fuse under the hood for engcont/bcm , red 10amp fuse , and wait 20 seconds
Turn on ignition (so dash lights come on only but Dont Start The Car)
Wait until you hear 3 chimes. Turn off ignition.
Wait 20 seconds. Reinstall the fuse.
Start car and let it idle for 5 minutes.

Whatever is causing the excess fuel to be used has also fowled your plugs. What did the plugs look like that you took out. Were they all bad / black / ???. Any codes in the ECM, there should be after the Service Engine Soon message. As soon as you see this you need to check the code and the ECU will tell you whats going on.
