Service Engine Oil Message

Yeah, pretty self-explanatory. Just curious and wondering what sensor (if any) triggers this message or if it's a timed software thing.

It's not timed
And whenever this sensor is triggered, that means you need to change oil or in some cases that the oil is strange

Where the sensor is located : i dont know

But if you change oil you need to remove the warning message
And if you start your car after deleting the message, and it appears again, well ... You have to check the sensor or even the oil that you used

I just changed mine, though I didn't have that message .... sounds like the sensor is working...?

Check oil level and oil/filter ...
if all OK even check your oil pressure? ... oil pump?

The sensor is located near the base of the oil filter canister...

I had the same message on the Wife's VZ and I knew there was nothing wrong with oil or filter as it had been changed 3000 k's back, so I found this link and cancelled the message. No more problems.
