Moral to this story is to always have your car serviced regularly
It's not just alloytecs that suffer problems from neglectful servicing .

A regular oil change using the correct oil is such a simple thing, either doing it yourself (Easy) or having a friend or mechanic do it for you REGULARLY.

Sad thing is that so many people don't do this , it's hardly rocket science checking things over under the bonnet and takes a minute out of your day .

pretty common around these parts......that's why I bought the 5.7 (although with scheduled services that rarely happens)

I was advised when I bought an Alloytec to change the oil and oil filter every 5,000 km, as that's what the previous 2 owners had done.
I've done so, and it's turned out to be good advice. Clean as a whistle, runs beautifully.

When I brought mine , I think it had missed a service , so did a few quick oil changes with a flush each and every time, engine is now clean inside, and I now do them probably more than nessacary, but it's my car and I want it to run well and reliably .

The Alloytec service schedule is to far apart. Recommended 15,000k changes is stupid.

If I owned one, it would be easily every 7,500. These engines sludge up in no time and then people think oh 15,000kms, whats another month?

Whats another month?
