As lots of you have done, I'm looking to remove all the badges off of my car, the VZ is a very unique shape anyway, and I think my car (white) would benefit from a "clean skin" look.

So any tips? I recall trying to remove the badges off my VS wagon when I had it; the badges came off, the black glue stayed, any way to stop that?

The badges should only have double sided tape on them. Pull the badges off and any remaining tape just roll off with your thumb if that doesn't work get a rubber wheel (caramel wheel) put it in a drill and you won't have a problem. The rubber wheel will also get rid of the black glue (sikaflex)
