Hello,

I had on my 2006 VZ SVZ wagon warning light 'POWERCHAIN' warning light and the engine light on
Took it to my mechanic who hooked it up to computer and got the following warning codes:

PO430 Cat System Efficiency below Threshold BANK 2

and

P2098 Post Cat O2 Sensor Fuel Trim Below Limit Bank 2

to give some context - last week I had a service by same mechanic - general things done - only thing he didn't change was spark plugs and leads; driving smoothly all good, I did go over a odd street speed hump fast 15 minutes before warning lights beeped on dash (??? could this contribute to O2 sensor knock???). Mechanic reset the dash etc, and was driving fine for another two hours around sydney town...THEN warning lights come on again

ALSO, this evening, was running the car, checking near the back, a 'whirring' sound coming from the back exhaust area...
I've been searching through this forum and getting many ideas, but with the above codes - would anyone have any more of an idea...??? Much appreciated

Cheers,

Might of damaged your exhaust going by the cat code and your speed hump story And the car is having a issue pushing the air out so you get the fuel code

Thinking there is a nice big dent between the engine and the rear pipes

Hi Thomo,

You said you went over a speed bump fast - didn't you hear the bang? I'd be getting the mechanic to put it up on a hoist. Definitely sounds like you have destroyed something there as Ozzy suggests.

Hey, silverbird

yeah definite bump. had my teenager in car and I made mention that wasn't good! i wasn't going too fast though...i had braked definitely

the speed bump is in an obscure backstreet of a sydney suburb. really large/high and odd shaped too, but I should know better.

if this is the cause I will be upset with myself but also that darn speed bump

yeah back to mechanic and up she goes!

went for another drive today,

when I got back had a look underneath whilst car running - didn't have Air Con on
and right along the exhaust system, pretty much where I think the CLUNK was on the speed hump there is dripping!!!

leakage ??- would anyone here with stronger car expertise than me know if this relates to the error codes above.

I just want to to be able to explain thoroughly to the mechanic
Cheers

Its still a damaged exhaust only its more damaged and is split more than I thought

It's common for liquid to come out of a exhaust

Your more than likely need to see a exhaust specialist.

Hi Thomo,

Do I assume the dripping was water (clear) not coolant (red) or oil? How long had the engine been running when you noticed the dripping? Also keen to find out what the problem was.
