Need help on how to remove the alternator from vz 2005 got 3nuts out i thought will be easy but i slide off the alternator it hit the side wall.is there an easy way? your help will be much appriciated..

I have never removed my alternator, but I think the design is that you remove the three nuts and each remaining stud has a hex drive on the end. You then remove each stud to drop the alternator away.

Yup, studs need to come out to get the alternator off.

Thats the Ecotec dude, Not even close to the same.

Sorry about that, was in a bit of a rush when I included the pdf. Here's some more relevant information relative to the VZ V6 :

1. Detach battery cable at battery and remove the engine covers.
2. Use a socket bar to release the serpentine engine belt tensioner and remove the serpentine belt.
3. Pull back the H+ terminal cover and remove the nut, washer and positive wire.
4. Remove the three (3) alternator retaining bolts.
5. Support the alternator assembly then remove the three alternator mounting bolts and lift the alternator out.

I have included a couple of pictures (1) indicating location of electrical connections and retaining bolts on Alternator (2) image of the installation of the Serpentine Engine Belt as it can be confusing when trying to re-install without picky etc. Good luck.

thanks mate for the pictures.i done step 1to 4 the mounting bolts or studs its got a hex head.im not sure what the right size for this end bit any idea?

Interesting question. I checked mine and a 7mm socket fits perfectly.
