VY V6 Rough Idle and Ping Under Acceleration

Hey Guys. Wondering if anyone has had similar problems. My brothers Commodore V6 (factory supercharged) has been playing up. Starts easy, but idles a bit rough. Engine can cut out at idle now and then but that does not happen very often. Drives ok but pings like crazy when accelerating up to speed. Always runs 98 octane. There are no fault codes showing. Was thinking of changing the spark leads but doubt that is the main problem. Can knock sensors be a problem with these motors? Thanks

Check he's got the correct spark plugs for the supercharged engine fitted and they're set to the correct gap as a start.
BPR6EF-13.
1.3mm gap.

The Commodore has been running perfect up until a couple of weeks ago. Plugs are ok and correct, plus it gets serviced at the required intervals. We thought it might have been a dud batch of fuel but its since been refilled at another servo. No change.
