anyone know how to do this? it's a 4l65e. Drivers side, it came off so easy, just popped it off with a screwdriver.
However cant get it back on to save my life, lined up up around both ways, bashed it, swore at it, abused it's mother and threatened it's life but it still wont go on. Currently held on with a hose clamp until I can figure it out.

More information please. What do you think the clip is associated with? Perhaps a more general photograph showing surrounding area in order to identify what and where. Whilst the supplied photo is very clear it is not very concise.

Some assemblies need the clip fitted in place first. Then the unit is pressed together.
Could that be the case here?

Now let me see, right hand side 4l65E !! Is that in the engine compartment, rear of the vehicle, underneath etc !! By the way - what is 4l65E? I can't find one labelled such in my machine. Perhaps you may just need a bigger hammer although if the hose clamp is doing the job - just leave it.

4L65E is a transmission benboy....and you can clearly see that the clip goes onto that bracket to hold that do hicky thingo.

It looks like the bit you need to hold in needs to further to the right in the picture, then the clip goes in and fits the narrow part of that do hicky thingo.
