Hi guys,

I bought new acdelco front and rear pads to replace around 6 months ago and only replaced the front ones coz the rear had more than half pad material remaining. Now after 30-40k km of mainly highway driving I decided to check & change all of them as the rear ones might be due now. The fronts were worn about 50-60% and the rear still look like they have more than half pad material remaining. Is this normal? Can the rear pads last 3-4 times longer than front pads?

As above, I've done two sets of rear pads since 2006. Lost count on the fronts, maybe 8 - 10 sets.

Interesting, on my VE one of the rear pads was closed to the metal. Front ones had about another 10,000 left on them.

When I bled the system, the right rear caliper had air in them. After that, I can feel the rear brakes doing their job.

A car is like a bike (be it motorbike or push bike) the front does around 80% on the braking and the rear does around 20%.
